It captures the pavilion crowd's reaction to Bobby and Bruce's argument after BIODTL. Bobby gave Bruce the throat slash after the "2nd ending" to the song. If you listen, Bruce keeps on playing after the traditional ending to BIODTL. The rest of the band added in and they did 2 endings to the song. After the last note, Bobby turned to Bruce and gave him the throat slash!
The crowd in the pavilion was cheering for Bruce while him and Bobby argued. Jerry was stuck in the middle, literally and figuratively. You can hear the crowd give a "Bruuuuce" cheer. The few kinda rockin' notes you hear Bruce play were to say to Bobby "I was jamming out. Take it easy." Bobby was pissed. You could see it if you were there. .
Jerry started the 2nd Set with Deal. Hmm. When was last time they did that? The deal went down in the dressing room between sets.

The 6th night of the California run. The band only repeat 1 song during this entire run, with Promised Land closing night 1 of both Cal Expo and Shoreline. This leads to some creative set lists.
Of note, the BIODTL includes a remarkable blurb from Bob to start things out. And the second set is completely inspired, with some of the best music of the run.

Keith, I'm absolutely loving your recordings! You have put up some real gems for the rest of us. Looking forward to seeing what else comes from that transfer deck of yours. :-)
I've put several of your GD offerings up on my website, http://www.gdluckynumbers.org, a "best of" list of Grateful Dead AUDs.

I'm glad to finally have the chance to hear these August 91 Shoreline shows from an AUD source. The soundboards are lifeless sounding.
Thanks!
Thanks!
